Because they can-can: Mack Rides partners with Moulin Rouge for new CanCan coaster

Mack Rides has announced a new collaboration with the Moulin Rouge, that will see the Eurosat coaster at Europa-Park, transformed into the iconic Paris theatre.

The Eurosat dark coaster, which is located in the futuristic sphere in the France-themed area of the park, will be renamed the Eurosat - CanCan coaster, and will undergo a considerable refurbishment, including a tech update and extensive theming work, before reopening this summer.

The new roller coaster will take visitors back in time to 19th century Paris. It will offer a significantly improved rider experience, due to new cabling and a new track, that will measure approximately 900 m (2952 ft) and have a very similar layout to the original, to commemorate the ride’s inventor, Franz Mack. The ride’s theming will also be completely redesigned to become a true-to-life replica of the Moulin Rouge.

In addition Mack Media, the media arm of Mack Rides, has developed a new VR experience, Eurosat Coastiality, that will be located at the back of the Eurosat sphere, making it the first ride to host two attractions within the same space. A second station with a shift track and separate trains will be integrated into the roller coaster, to make space for the experience.

There will also be a Parisian curiosity shop, Madame Freudenreich Curiosités, at the entrance of the ride, where guests can shop for souvenirs and curios.
